Fox News executives have addressed why President Trump frequently seeks advice from their anchors.

Former President Donald Trump has finalized his appointments to the Kennedy Center board,

selecting Fox News personalities Laura Ingraham and Maria Bartiromo as the latest additions.

Their inclusion marks the completion of a significant shift in the institution’s leadership,

transforming what was once a traditionally bipartisan board into one dominated by staunch conservatives.

Announcing the appointments on Truth Social, Trump expressed his vision for the institution’s future, stating,

“We look forward to restoring the Center to Greatness, and ushering in America’s Golden Age.”

However, the changes have sparked controversy, leading to backlash from members of the arts community, with some artists severing their ties with the Kennedy Center in protest.

A Conservative Takeover of the Kennedy Center

Trump’s influence on the Kennedy Center board has been steadily growing, and with these final appointments, the transformation is complete. Ingraham and Bartiromo now join a roster of conservative figures, including White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, her mother Cheri Summerall, Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino, and Second Lady Usha Vance. Other members include country singer Lee Greenwood, former White House adviser to Melania Trump Pamela Gross, and several spouses of Trump’s business allies and megadonors.

The Kennedy Center, known for its role in promoting the arts and culture in the United States, has historically maintained a nonpartisan approach in its board appointments. However, Trump’s selections have firmly placed the institution under conservative leadership, a move that has drawn both praise from his supporters and criticism from those who argue that it politicizes the arts.

Backlash from the Arts Community

The shift in leadership has not gone unnoticed by the artistic community, with several prominent figures voicing their concerns and distancing themselves from the institution. One of the most high-profile departures came from the creators of the hit Broadway musical Hamilton, who announced they would no longer proceed with a scheduled run at the Kennedy Center next year.

This decision has been met with disappointment from the center’s interim president, Richard Grenell, who has expressed frustration over the growing divide between the institution and the arts community. As more artists reassess their association with the Kennedy Center, questions continue to arise over how Trump’s reshaped board will impact the center’s future programming and reputation.

Who Are Laura Ingraham and Maria Bartiromo?

Both Ingraham and Bartiromo have been unwavering supporters of Trump, using their platforms on Fox News to champion his policies and viewpoints.

Laura Ingraham, host of The Ingraham Angle, is one of the network’s most vocal conservative commentators. She has often promoted controversial views, including the “great replacement” theory and skepticism toward the COVID-19 vaccine. She has also downplayed the events of January 6, 2021, which has made her a polarizing figure in the media landscape.

Maria Bartiromo, a longtime business journalist and host of Sunday Morning Futures, has also been a dedicated Trump ally. She played a significant role in amplifying election fraud claims after the 2020 presidential election, an issue that later became central to defamation lawsuits against Fox News. Her close ties to Trump were further highlighted when she secured his first post-election interview, during which she allowed him to make a series of unfounded claims without challenge.

The Future of the Kennedy Center Under Trump’s Influence

With the board now fully aligned with Trump’s vision, the Kennedy Center is poised to undergo significant changes. While Trump and his supporters argue that these appointments will restore the institution’s greatness, critics worry that the shift will alienate a broader segment of the arts community and undermine the center’s long-standing commitment to bipartisan collaboration.

It remains to be seen how these changes will affect the center’s programming, funding, and overall reputation in the cultural world. As Trump’s influence continues to reshape institutions beyond politics, the Kennedy Center may become yet another battleground in the nation’s ongoing ideological divide.
