Blake Lively has intensified her legal battle against Justin Baldoni, alleging that she was not the only woman who felt uncomfortable working with him on the set of It Ends With Us.
In an amended complaint filed in a New York federal court on Tuesday,
Lively claimed that other women shared similar concerns about Baldoni’s behavior and were willing to testify in support of her allegations.
More Women Come Forward
The Gossip Girl alum, who first filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024, stated in her updated filing
that she was “not alone” in raising issues about his alleged conduct during the filming of It Ends With Us.
According to the court documents, at least two other women also felt uncomfortable around Baldoni while working on the project.
While the identities of these women remain undisclosed in the complaint, Lively’s legal team emphasized that they were prepared to testify and provide evidence during the discovery process. The lawsuit further asserts that Baldoni himself acknowledged the concerns about his behavior in writing, though specific details regarding his response have not been released.
Lively’s Text Messages Reveal Discomfort
The complaint includes text messages sent by Lively that detail her discomfort with Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios partner, Jamey Heath. One message, dated May 2023, was sent to a mutual acquaintance of Baldoni and Heath. In it, Lively described feeling overwhelmed and emotional after dealing with the two men on set.
“It’s like HR nuts today. The both of them,” she wrote. “I wasn’t expecting that turn. I mean it’s been present but today I came home and cried.”
Another message contained even more pointed allegations, with Lively calling Baldoni and Heath “creeps.” She expressed frustration over their behavior, stating, “Like keep your hormones to yourselves. This is not mine. I don’t want it. I don’t want you [sic] gaze or words or tongue or videos of your naked wife. Yeah. It’s shocking. Clowns.”
According to court records, Lively reported her concerns to Sony executive Ange Giannetti two days later. Shortly after, another female cast member allegedly raised similar complaints. While the filing does not specify names, actresses Jenny Slate and Isabela Ferrer played significant roles in the film and could potentially be among those affected.
A New Defamation Claim
Lively’s amended lawsuit also includes a new defamation claim, citing public statements made since she initially took legal action against Baldoni. She alleges that comments from Baldoni and his legal team have damaged her reputation and misrepresented the situation.
Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, dismissed the updated complaint as lacking substantial evidence. In a statement to Page Six, he argued that the lawsuit relies on “unsubstantiated hearsay” from individuals unwilling to come forward publicly.
“Since documents do not lie and people do, the upcoming depositions of those who initially supported Ms. Lively’s false claims and those who are witnesses to her own behavior will be enlightening,” Freedman stated. “What is truly uncomfortable here is Ms. Lively’s lack of actual evidence.”
Baldoni’s Countersuit and Legal Battle
Baldoni, known for his role in Jane the Virgin, has strongly denied Lively’s allegations and taken legal action of his own. In January 2025, he filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, accusing them of defamation. The lawsuit seeks damages amounting to four times the couple’s estimated net worth.
In addition, Baldoni has sued The New York Times over its coverage of Lively’s original complaint, alleging that the publication’s reporting harmed his reputation.
The legal dispute has cast a shadow over It Ends With Us, the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, which was released in August 2024. Speculation about tensions between Lively and Baldoni first surfaced around the film’s premiere, and their ongoing legal battle continues to attract widespread media attention.
As the case unfolds, more details are expected to emerge regarding Lively’s allegations, Baldoni’s defense, and the testimony of other individuals involved in the production.
