Brandon Sklenar from It Ends With Us struggled to hold back tears as he discussed being h@rassed repeatedly amid the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni legal b@ttle. How is he involved?

Brandon Sklenar, who starred alongside Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni in It Ends With Us,

found himself in an awkward position during a recent interview when asked to take sides in the ongoing legal battle between his co-stars.

The 1923 actor appeared on CBS Mornings, where he was questioned about the lawsuit that has put Lively and Baldoni at the center of a major Hollywood controversy.

Brandon Sklenar Avoids Taking Sides

During his interview, Sklenar was asked how he felt about the high-profile legal drama surrounding his It Ends With Us co-stars.

Rather than choosing a side, he focused on the film’s core message.

“I just want people to remember why we made the movie in the first place and what it stands for,” Sklenar told CBS Mornings anchor Gayle King. “That movie meant so much to me. I have someone very close to me in my life who’s gone through what Lily [Lively’s character] experiences in the story. Helping her navigate that space was one of the reasons why doing this film was so important to me.”

Despite his attempt to steer the conversation away from the legal dispute, King pushed further, bluntly asking, “Are you Team Blake or Team Justin?”

Visibly uncomfortable, Sklenar responded with a diplomatic answer: “I’m team It Ends With Us.”

Sklenar Publicly Supported Lively on Social Media

While Sklenar refrained from explicitly taking a side during the interview, his past actions suggest he has shown support for Lively amid her lawsuit against Baldoni. In December, shortly after Lively filed her lawsuit alleging sexual harassment, retaliation, and emotional distress, Sklenar took to Instagram to encourage his followers to read up on the case.

On Dec. 23, he posted a screenshot of a New York Times archive containing legal documents related to the lawsuit. Along with the image, he wrote, “FOR THE LOVE OF GOD READ THIS,” tagging Lively’s Instagram account and adding a red heart emoji.

Jenny Slate Stands with Blake Lively

Another It Ends With Us co-star, Jenny Slate, was more vocal about her support for Lively. She released a statement to Today expressing solidarity with the actress.

“As Blake Lively’s castmate and friend, I voice my support as she takes action against those reported to have planned and carried out an attack on her reputation,” Slate said. “Blake is a leader, loyal friend, and a trusted source of emotional support for me and so many who know and love her.”

She further called the allegations against Baldoni “terribly dark, disturbing, and wholly threatening,” praising Lively’s bravery in pursuing legal action.

Blake Lively vs. Justin Baldoni: A Legal Battle Unfolds

The legal drama between Lively and Baldoni has escalated since Lively filed her lawsuit against Baldoni and film producer Jamey Heath in December. In response, Baldoni counter-sued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for $400 million, alleging civil extortion and defamation.

Baldoni later released unedited footage from the set of It Ends With Us, claiming it disproved Lively’s accusations of sexual harassment. However, Lively’s legal team countered, stating that the footage actually supported their case.

As the legal dispute intensified, Lively’s attorneys requested a gag order to prevent Baldoni’s lawyer from making public statements about the case. Baldoni’s legal team dismissed this as an “intimidation tactic” and accused Lively’s side of engaging in “tactical gamesmanship.”

Court Ruling Limits Public Statements from Both Sides

With the legal battle heating up, a federal judge recently ruled that both Lively and Baldoni’s legal teams must adhere to New York’s Rules of Professional Conduct, which prohibit statements that could potentially prejudice a jury. While neither side can make public remarks likely to influence legal proceedings, they are allowed to defend their clients in response to outside media coverage.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Make First Public Appearance Amid Legal Drama

Despite the ongoing controversy, Lively and Reynolds stepped back into the spotlight over the weekend at Saturday Night Live’s 50th-anniversary celebration. The event marked their first red carpet appearance in months, signaling that Lively remains focused on her career and personal life as the lawsuit plays out.

A Trial Awaits in 2026

As it stands, both Lively and Baldoni are preparing for a lengthy legal battle. The former co-stars are set to face off in court in 2026, with their legal teams continuing to exchange allegations and evidence.

In the meantime, those connected to It Ends With Us, like Sklenar, are attempting to navigate the situation carefully—balancing their loyalty to their colleagues while avoiding getting caught in the legal crossfire.
